dīrghatapā uvāca | āgaccha svāgataṃ te'stu āsane'tropaviśyatām | arghaṃ dadāmyahaṃ yena madhuparkaṃ saviṣṭaram
Dīrghatapā nói: “Hãy đến—xin hoan nghênh ngài. Xin ngồi trên tòa này. Ta sẽ dâng arghya, và dâng madhuparka cùng đầy đủ nghi thức tiếp đãi.”
Dīrghatapā
Tirtha: Dīrghatapā-āśrama (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Listener: The king (unnamed here)
Scene: The sage Dīrghatapā rises slightly, gestures to a seat, and prepares arghya and madhuparka with ritual vessels; the king sits respectfully, tension easing in the sanctified atmosphere.
Even in austere forest life, dharma expresses itself as honoring a guest through arghya and madhuparka.
The verse reflects the āśrama culture of the Revā region; the sanctity is tied to the Narmadā/Revā tīrtha milieu.
Offering arghya and madhuparka as formal hospitality to an arriving guest (atithi).
