adya me saphalaṃ janma adya me saphalaṃ tapaḥ | darśanena tu viprāṇāṃ sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate
Type: sangam
Scene: Anasūyā, hands folded, eyes moist with devotion, declares her life and austerity fulfilled upon seeing the brāhmaṇa guests; the atmosphere is charged with purity and release from sin.
Reverent encounter with the righteous—especially realized brāhmaṇas—purifies and crowns one’s life and austerity with spiritual fruit.
The Revā Khaṇḍa context links purification and merit to the broader sanctity of the Revā/Narmadā sacred landscape.
No specific rite is prescribed here; the emphasis is on the purifying power of darśana (holy sight/meeting).
