Significance: Establishes the daily-kriyā rhythm of Śiva-pūjā; aligning worship with proper time (kāla) is taught as a dharma-supporting discipline that stabilizes the aspirant’s conduct and supports gradual purification.
It teaches that Shiva-puja is not random: performed with right timing and intent, it steadies dharma in the morning, channels desires at midday, and brings inner pacification (śānti) in the evening and night—guiding the devotee from outward aims toward purification and calm.
Time-ordered Linga worship trains the devotee in disciplined approach to Saguna Shiva—using regulated rites (vidhi) to purify the mind, so that the grace of Shiva becomes increasingly śāntika (peace-giving), especially in the evening and night.
Keep a fixed daily schedule of Shiva worship: morning for rule-based puja (with mantra and purity), midday for prayerful offerings seeking legitimate needs, and evening/night for śānti-focused japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), ideally with bhasma/tripundra and a calm, inward meditation.
