viṣṇuruvāca devādhīśa maheśāna dīnabaṃdho kṛpākara | prasīda parameśāna kṛpāṃ kuru natapriya
Viṣṇu thưa rằng: “Ôi Chúa tể chư thiên, ôi Maheśāna, bạn của kẻ khốn cùng, biển cả của lòng từ mẫn! Xin Ngài đoái thương, hỡi Parameśāna. Xin ban ân huệ, vì Ngài hằng yêu mến những ai cúi mình kính lễ.”
Vishnu
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Mantra: devādhīśa maheśāna dīnabaṃdho kṛpākara | prasīda parameśāna kṛpāṃ kuru natapriya
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It highlights Śiva as Parameśvara whose kṛpā (grace) is awakened by humble surrender; devotion and bowing are shown as direct means to receive divine protection and relief from suffering.
The verse is a stuti addressed to Saguna Śiva—approached through names and qualities like compassion and lordship—mirroring how devotees worship the Śiva-liṅga as the accessible form through which the Supreme bestows grace.
A practical takeaway is namaskāra with heartfelt prayer (stuti) and japa in a mood of surrender—especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—seeking Śiva’s kṛpā as the remover of distress.
