कृतं तदस्तु सफलं कृपया तव शंकर । तावकस्त्वद्गतप्राण त्वच्चित्तोहं सदा मृड

Ôi Śaṅkara, nhờ lòng từ bi của Ngài, xin cho những điều đã làm được kết quả viên mãn. Con thuộc về Ngài mà thôi—hơi thở sinh mệnh nương nơi Ngài, tâm con luôn an trụ nơi Ngài, ôi Mṛḍa.

It expresses śaraṇāgati (complete surrender): the devotee offers prāṇa and citta to Shiva (Pati) and prays that all effort becomes fruitful only through His anugraha (grace), aligning with Shaiva Siddhanta where liberation is perfected by Shiva’s compassion.
The verse is classic Saguna-bhakti: addressing Shiva by names (Śaṅkara, Mṛḍa) and fixing mind on Him. In Liṅga worship, this inner placement of prāṇa and citta into Shiva is mirrored outwardly through abhiṣeka and upacāras, making ritual effective through devotion and grace.
A practical takeaway is dhyāna with japa—mentally offering breath and mind to Shiva while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and concluding with a prayer that the worship be made fruitful by Shiva’s compassion.
