Description of Kumāra’s Wondrous Deeds
A devotee/householder performing a putra-yajña (narrated within Suta Goswami’s Shiva Purana discourse in the Rudra Saṃhitā context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
Offering: naivedya
The verse affirms Śiva as Īśāna—Pati, the supreme Lord—who removes impediments for sādhus and, as the causal ground of creation, has the power to perfect and complete a devotee’s sacred undertaking through grace (anugraha).
By addressing Śiva personally as Īśāna and seeking the completion of a yajña, the devotee approaches Saguna Śiva—the gracious Lord accessible through worship such as liṅga-pūjā, mantra, and offerings—who governs worldly rites while guiding them toward dharma and inner purification.
A practical takeaway is to begin any vow, yajña, or vrata with Śiva-prārthanā—liṅga worship, japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and offering bhasma/rudrākṣa with devotion—seeking nirvighnatā (freedom from obstacles) and pūrṇatā (successful completion).
