देवगणा ऊचुः । किं कर्तव्यं क्व गंतव्यं न ज्ञायंते दिशो दश । परिघं भ्रामयत्येष सव्यापसव्यमेव च
devagaṇā ūcuḥ | kiṃ kartavyaṃ kva gaṃtavyaṃ na jñāyaṃte diśo daśa | parighaṃ bhrāmayatyeṣa savyāpasavyameva ca
Chư thiên đồng thanh thưa rằng: “Chúng ta phải làm gì, và phải đi về đâu? Mười phương nay không còn phân biệt được nữa. Quyền lực ấy đang xoay vung chùy sắt—lúc sang trái, lúc sang phải—khiến mọi sự rối loạn.”

Cosmic Event: directional confusion (diśā-bhrama) under overwhelming divine force
It depicts the collapse of ordinary certainty—when the ten directions themselves feel lost—signaling that limited powers (even divine) cannot master the cosmic play without taking refuge in Pati (Śiva), the supreme governor beyond confusion.
When external strength and orientation fail, the Purāṇic remedy is śaraṇāgati (surrender) to Saguna Śiva—often approached through the Liṅga as the stable axis of consciousness—so the devotee regains inner direction amid turmoil.
A practical takeaway is to steady the mind with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and cultivate refuge in Śiva; this verse itself doesn’t specify bhasma or rudrākṣa, but the Shaiva response to fear is mantra-centered recollection and surrender.
