Gaṇeśa’s Challenge and the Mustering of the Gaṇas
Devotees (Kumara context) praising Lord Shiva (as narrated by Suta Goswami)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
It declares Shiva as Parabrahman and Parameśvara—the Pati (Supreme Lord) who performs creation, preservation, and dissolution—establishing surrender (śaraṇāgati) and devotion as the right orientation of the soul (paśu) toward liberation.
By calling Shiva both Parabrahman (transcendent) and Parameśvara (sovereign Lord), it supports Linga worship as the accessible Saguna symbol through which devotees approach the Nirguna reality that is beyond all forms.
Practice humble service and japa with Shiva-mantra—especially the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya")—while meditating on Shiva as the inner ruler who creates, sustains, and dissolves all experiences.
