Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Positions Vedic Rudra-recitation and inner dhyāna of Sadāśiva as a means of purification and eligibility for Śiva’s grace; integrates śruti-mantra with Śaiva theism.
Mantra: श्रीरुद्रं चमकं ... जपेद्ब्रह्माणि पञ्च च
Type: rudram
Role: teaching
It teaches that outer recitation of sacred hymns becomes spiritually fruitful when united with inner contemplation of Sadāśiva—devotion (bhakti) and disciplined practice (japa/vidhi) together purify the soul and orient it toward liberation under the grace of Pati (Shiva).
The verse reflects Saguna-upāsanā through prescribed Vedic hymns (Śrī Rudram, Camakam, Puruṣa Sūkta) while directing the devotee to hold Sadāśiva in the heart—linking ritual worship (including Linga worship) with internalized meditative presence.
Perform rule-based mantra recitation of Śrī Rudram, Camakam, and Puruṣa Sūkta, and add focused heart-meditation on Sadāśiva along with japa of five sacred Brahma-mantras (pañca-brahma), integrating chanting with dhyāna.
