मन्द्रस्य रूपं विविदुर्मनीषिणः श्येनो यदन्धो अभरत्परावतः । तं मर्जयन्त सुवृधं नदीष्वाँ उशन्तमंशुं परियन्तमृग्मियम् ॥

Transliteration

mandrásya rūpáṃ vívidur manīṣíṇaḥ śyénो yád ándho ábharat parāvátaḥ | táṃ márjayanta su-vṛ́dhaṃ nadī́ṣv ā́ uśántam aṃśúṃ paríyantam ṛ́gmiyam ||

Translation

Các bậc minh triết đã nhận ra hình tướng của Đấng hoan lạc (mandra), khi chim đại bàng mang tinh túy Soma (Soma), tức andhas, từ cõi xa thẳm. Người ta gột rửa Ngài trong các dòng sông, cho Ngài tăng trưởng tốt lành; tia sáng (aṃśu) đáng ước vọng nhất chuyển vòng, thích hợp cho thánh ca, hòa nhịp với tiết điệu của Chân lý.
