जातो अग्नी रोचते चेकितानो वाजी विप्रः कविशस्तः सुदानुः । यं देवास ईड्यं विश्वविदं हव्यवाहमदधुरध्वरेषु ॥

jātó agnī́ rocate cékītāno vājī́ vípraḥ kaviśastáḥ sudā́nuḥ | yáṃ devā́sa ī́ḍyaṃ viśvavídaṃ havyavā́ham ádadḥur adhvaréṣu ||

Agni khi vừa sinh ra liền rực sáng, tỉnh thức và phân minh—kẻ chiến thắng sự sung mãn, bậc được linh hứng, được các hiền triết ca tụng, giàu có trong sự ban phát đúng đắn. Các thần đã đặt Người trong những nghi lễ tế tự: đấng đáng tôn thờ, toàn tri, kẻ chuyên chở lễ vật.
