सीताविलापः—त्रिजटासान्त्वनं च
Sita’s Lament and Trijata’s Consolation
शुत्वातुवचनंतस्याःसीतासुरसुतोपमा ।कृताञ्जलिरुवाचेमामेवमस्त्वितिमैथिलि ।।।।
śrutvā tu vacanaṃ tasyāḥ sītā surasutopamā |
kṛtāñjalir uvāca emām evam astv iti maithili ||
Nghe lời an ủi ấy, nàng Sita rạng ngời như ái nữ của chư thiên, chắp tay cung kính và thưa: “Xin được như vậy, hỡi Maithili.”
"Those virtuous lotus marks that a woman has on their feet to become crowned queen of a kingdom are seen in my feet."
Dharma here is expressed as humility and respectful speech even amid suffering—Sita acknowledges consolation with gratitude rather than bitterness.
After receiving reassurance from Trijata, Sita responds with folded hands, accepting the words of comfort.
Courtesy and composure: Sita maintains dignified conduct (maryādā) despite captivity and fear.
