Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
मार्गमालोकयन्दूरादूर्ध्वं प्रणिहितेक्षणः।रुरोध हृदये प्राणानाकाशमवलोकयन्।।।।
mārgam ālokayan dūrād ūrdhvaṁ praṇihitekṣaṇaḥ | rurodha hṛdaye prāṇān ākāśam avalokayan ||
Từ xa Ngài quan sát để định lộ trình, mắt ngước lên cao; vừa nhìn lên hư không, Ngài nén hơi thở trong lồng ngực.
Having cast his eyes upward in order to view the distance and direction in which he had to leap, he restrained his breath in the chest while looking at the sky.
Right action is supported by right preparation—clarity of aim and control of the senses and breath to serve a truthful mission.
Immediately before the leap, Hanumān surveys the direction and steadies his life-breath for the great crossing.
