शुनश्शेफरक्षा–विश्वामित्रशापः
Sunassepha’s Rescue and Visvamitra’s Curse
निस्साध्वसमिदं प्रोक्तं धर्मादपि विगर्हितम्।अतिक्रम्य तु मद्वाक्यं दारुणं रोमहर्षणम्।।।।
niḥsādhvasam idaṃ proktaṃ dharmād api vigarhitam | atikramya tu mad-vākyaṃ dāruṇaṃ roma-harṣaṇam ||
Lời này đã thốt ra thật vô liêm sỉ, đáng bị quở trách ngay cả theo chuẩn mực của Dharma. Ngươi đã vượt qua mệnh lệnh của ta, buông lời tàn nhẫn khiến người nghe rợn tóc gáy.
"(You have) not only trangressed my words but also (you are) censurable according to dharma. You have uttered such audacious and dreadrul words causing the hair to stand on end.
Dharma includes restraint in speech and honoring legitimate authority; violating a righteous command and speaking improperly is condemned.
Viśvāmitra rebukes his sons for opposing him and for the manner of their objection.
The virtue emphasized is adherence to satya-like steadfastness to one’s declared course, coupled with dharmic discipline in conduct and speech.
