Genealogy of the Ancestors (Pitṛs) and the Procedure of Śrāddha

अभ्यर्च्य गंधाद्युत्सृज्य पितृयज्ञं समारभेत् । दर्भासनादि कृत्वादौ त्रीणि पात्राणि चार्चयेत्

abhyarcya gaṃdhādyutsṛjya pitṛyajñaṃ samārabhet | darbhāsanādi kṛtvādau trīṇi pātrāṇi cārcayet

Trước hết hãy làm lễ phụng thờ, rồi đặt riêng hương liệu và các vật khác; sau đó nên khởi sự nghi lễ pitṛ-yajña (tế tự tổ tiên). Ngay lúc ban đầu, sau khi sắp đặt chỗ ngồi bằng cỏ darbha và các chuẩn bị liên hệ, hãy làm nghi thức tịnh hóa và thờ cúng ba chiếc bình.
