The Account and Merit of Śivadūtī
with the Nāga-tīrtha at Puṣkara
Concept: Saṃskāras (like cūḍākarma) are not mere social customs; when performed auspiciously, they become occasions for divine blessing and protection.
Application: Treat life-rites as mindful spiritual thresholds: perform them with cleanliness, charity, prayer, and protection of dependents; mark transitions with gratitude rather than vanity.

Sandhi Resolution Notes:
It places the episode in Avantī (the Ujjayinī/Ujjain region), a major sacred landscape in Purāṇic literature, indicating that key divine events are anchored to well-known tīrtha-geographies.
By depicting Rudra personally blessing Skanda in a sacred setting, the verse highlights divine accessibility and grace—core themes that support devotional (bhakti) imagination even within creation-era narration.
It underscores reverence for saṃskāras (life-cycle rites) and auspicious timing, suggesting that dharmic observances performed properly are worthy occasions for divine favor and blessings.
