The Greatness of the Gaṅgā
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It declares that association with saintly people (satsaṅga) is itself a powerful dhārmic practice that produces auspicious results both materially and spiritually, making the saints worthy of the highest honor.
Bhakti is nourished by proximity to the virtuous: through their conduct, speech, and example, faith and devotion naturally deepen, leading to well-being here and spiritual upliftment beyond.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is dhārmic discipline—seeking satsaṅga and offering due reverence to the righteous as a foundational practice.
