The Greatness of the Gaṅgā
Narada (narrating to the Sanatkumara brothers)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It highlights dharmic conduct: after receiving guidance, one should approach the rightful guru (kulācārya) with purity and truthful speech, showing humility and readiness to follow righteous counsel.
While not directly describing Vishnu-bhakti, it models a key bhakti attitude—prīti (loving reverence) and śauca (inner purity)—expressed through respectful surrender to a revered teacher.
The verse primarily emphasizes ācāra (right conduct) and guru-paramparā rather than a specific Vedāṅga; practically, it underscores disciplined speech (satya-vāk) and purity (śuciḥ) as prerequisites for receiving effective instruction.
