Dharmānukathana
Narration of Dharma
Nārada (teaching in Purāṇic discourse; framed within the Nārada–Sanatkumāra dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that simple, sattvic gifts (milk, ghee, honey, curd) offered in dharma generate puṇya that attracts Viṣṇu’s grace, resulting in longevity, good reputation, and Śrī (auspicious prosperity).
Bhakti is shown through actions that please Viṣṇu—selfless giving and supporting life-sustaining offerings—so that devotion becomes practical service (seva) rather than mere sentiment.
Ritual-practice (kalpa-oriented dharma) is implied: choosing pure, nourishing substances for dāna and performing charity with proper intention and purity, a core principle in Vedic ritual discipline.
