Dharmānukathana
Narration of Dharma
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada; addressed to a king in the narrative style)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It emphasizes the expansive, trans-generational fruit of Vishnu-centered merit: a devotee’s spiritual attainment is portrayed as benefiting vast ancestral lineages and culminating in residence in Nārāyaṇa’s abode for immense cosmic durations.
By presenting Nārāyaṇa-pada as the end-state reward, the verse frames devotion and Vishnu-oriented dharma as a direct cause of divine proximity, not merely worldly merit—linking bhakti to liberation-like residence in Vishnu’s realm.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is the Purāṇic doctrine of kula-uddhāra (uplift of family lineages) through Vishnu-related punya and vrata-oriented conduct.
