Jyotiṣa-saṅgraha: Varga-vibhāga, Bala-nirṇaya, Garbha-phala, Āyuḥ-gaṇanā

पुमान् स्री च क्लीबश्चरस्थिरद्विःस्वभावकाः । मेषाद्याः पूर्वतोदिक्स्थाः स्वस्वस्थानचरास्तथा ॥ ७ ॥

pumān srī ca klībaścarasthiradviḥsvabhāvakāḥ | meṣādyāḥ pūrvatodiksthāḥ svasvasthānacarāstathā || 7 ||

Các cung hoàng đạo, bắt đầu từ Bạch Dương, được phân loại là nam, nữ và trung tính; đồng thời cũng là động, cố định và lưỡng tính. Bạch Dương và các cung còn lại được an vị từ phương Đông trở đi, và mỗi cung vận hành trong đúng vị trí của mình trên vòng hoàng đạo.
