Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 33 — Kuru Cattle-Raid and Matsya Mobilization (भूमिंजय-प्रेरणा)
गदां तस्य परामृश्य तमेवाभ्यद्रवद् बली । स चचार गदापाणिव॑द्धो 5पि तरुणो यथा
gadāṃ tasya parāmṛśya tamevābhyadravad balī | sa cacāra gadāpāṇir vṛddho 'pi taruṇo yathā ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Nắm lấy cây chùy, vua Virāṭa hùng mạnh nhảy xuống từ chiến xa của Suśarmā và lao thẳng về phía ông ta. Tay cầm chùy, Virāṭa tung hoành trên chiến địa như một tráng niên, dẫu tuổi đã cao—bộc lộ lòng can đảm kiên định và ý chí của bậc quân vương trong việc bảo hộ vương quốc.
