The verse teaches that sincere pilgrimage and ritual purity—here, bathing at a sacred Sarasvatī tīrtha—can yield merit comparable to an elaborate Vedic sacrifice (Agniṣṭoma), emphasizing accessible paths to religious merit when performed with faith and discipline.
A speaker is describing a specific holy place on the Sarasvatī named Śrīkuñja and stating the spiritual benefit of bathing there: the pilgrim gains the fruit of the Agniṣṭoma sacrifice.
