तद् वसामो वयं छजन्नास्तदनुज्ञातुमर्हथ । सुयोधनश्व दुष्टात्मा कर्णश्न सहसौबल:
tad vasāmo vayaṃ chajannās tad anu-jñātum arhatha | suyodhanaś ca duṣṭātmā karṇaś ca sahasaubalaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Vì thế năm nay chúng ta muốn sống ẩn mình; xin các ngài ban cho phép. Bởi Suyodhana (Duryodhana) lòng dạ hiểm ác, cùng với Karṇa và Saubala (Śakuni), mang mối thù sâu nặng với chúng ta. Chúng ráo riết dò tìm tung tích và đã sai mật thám rình rập. Nếu nơi ở của chúng ta bị lộ, chúng có thể đối xử tàn nhẫn, bất công cả với các bậc trưởng thượng và thân tộc—những người có liên hệ với chúng ta.”
