sa cāpitāṃ prajvalitāṃ mahiṣasya vidāriṇīm | mumoca śaktiṃ rājendra mahāseno mahābalaḥ ||
Bấy giờ Mahāsena, bậc dũng lực phi thường, hỡi đại vương, phóng một ngọn lao rực lửa—thứ vũ khí có thể xé toạc thân thể của quỷ trâu Mahīṣa.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Power and violence, when employed, should be purposive and restrained—directed toward removing a dangerous adharma rather than motivated by hatred or personal gain. The verse frames force as an instrument in a larger moral struggle.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes Mahāsena launching a blazing spear (śakti) at the buffalo(-demon), a weapon described as capable of ripping open the opponent’s body, intensifying the battle episode.
