अथाभिद्रुत्य महिषो देवांश्षिक्षेप तं गिरिम्‌,परंतु महिषासुरने देवताओंका पीछा करके उनके ऊपर वह पहाड़ पटक दिया। युधिष्ठि!! उस भयानक पर्वतके गिरनेसे देवसेनाके दस हजार योद्धा कुचलकर धरतीपर गिर पड़े

athābhidrutya mahiṣo devān kṣipepa taṃ girim | yudhiṣṭhira, tasya bhīṣaṇasya parvatasya patanena devasenāyā daśa-sahasrāṇi yodhāḥ pīḍitāḥ kuṭṭitāś ca bhūmau nipetuḥ ||

Mārkaṇḍeya nói: “Rồi quỷ trâu Mahīṣa xông tới và ném ngọn núi ấy xuống chư thiên. Ôi Yudhiṣṭhira, khi đỉnh núi ghê rợn ấy đổ ập xuống, mười nghìn chiến binh trong đạo quân của các thần bị nghiền nát và ngã rạp trên mặt đất.”
