क्षत्रधर्मादमेयात्मा नाकम्पत युधिष्ठिर: । उस दयनीय अवस्थामें पहुँचकर अपनी महारानी कृष्णाको सभामें (तिरस्कारपूर्वक) लायी गयी देखकर भी महामना युधिष्ठिर अपने क्षत्रियधर्मसे विचलित नहीं हुए ।।

kṣatradharmād ameyātmā nākampata yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | ahaṃ tu tava teṣāṃ ca śreya icchāmi bhārata ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Vững vàng trong kṣatriya-dharma, bậc đại hồn Yudhiṣṭhira không hề dao động, dẫu thấy hoàng hậu Kṛṣṇā bị lôi vào hội trường trong cảnh nhục nhã. Còn ta, hỡi Bhārata, chỉ mong điều lành cho cả ngài và cho họ nữa—xin đừng tước khỏi muôn dân dharma, phú quý và an lạc; lúc này ngài đang lầm tai họa là lợi, và coi điều lợi chân thật như thể là điều hại cho mình.”
