भीष्मप्रतापात् कुरवो नयेनान्धकवृष्णय: । यज्ञ तस्य वशे जग्मु: केवलं दैवमेव तत्,भीष्मजीके प्रतापसे कुरुवंशी और नीतिबलसे अंधक-वृष्णिवंशके लोग जो जरासंधके वशमें नहीं पड़े, वह केवल दैवयोग था
bhīṣma-pratāpāt kuravo nayenāndhaka-vṛṣṇayaḥ | yajas tasya vaśe jagmuḥ kevalaṃ daivam eva tat ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra nói: “Nhờ uy lực của Bhīṣma và nhờ tài trị nước của nhà Kuru, người Andhaka và Vṛṣṇi đã không rơi vào quyền kiểm soát của hắn; kết cục ấy chỉ do số mệnh mà thôi.”
