योधानां दशसाहसंं कृत्वा भागं महाद्युते । सहस्र॑ं रथिनामेकमेष भागो मतो मम
yodhānāṁ daśasāhasraṁ kṛtvā bhāgaṁ mahādyute | sahasraṁ rathinām ekam eṣa bhāgo mato mama ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bậc rạng danh, theo ý ta, thước đo thích đáng là thế này: lấy mười nghìn bộ binh làm một đơn vị, và tính một chiến xa binh tương đương một nghìn. Đó là tỷ lệ ta chấp nhận.”
