Ulūka’s Provocative Envoy-Speech in the Pāṇḍava Camp
Ulūka-dūta-vākya
महाराज मनुष्येषु निन्द्यं यः सर्वमाचरेत् । स वध्य: सर्वलोकस्य निन्दितानि समाचरन्
mahārāja manuṣyeṣu nindyaṃ yaḥ sarvam ācaret | sa vadhyaḥ sarvalokasya ninditāni samācaran ||
Sañjaya thưa: “Tâu bệ hạ, kẻ nào trong cách đối đãi với người khác cứ thường xuyên làm điều hoàn toàn đáng chê trách—kẻ cố chấp sống bằng hạnh kiểm ô nhục—thì trước mắt mọi người đều trở thành kẻ đáng bị trừng phạt (thậm chí đến mức xử tử), vì hắn sống bằng những hành vi bị xã hội và dharma lên án.”
