Kuntī–Karṇa Saṃvāda: Lineage Disclosure and Appeal to Fraternal Dharma
आपूृष्ठतापाज्ज प्त्वा स परिवृत्य यतव्रत: । दृष्टवा कुन्तीमुपातिषछ्ठदभिवाद्य कृताञ्जलि:
āpṛṣṭhatāpāj jap tvā sa parivṛtya yatavrataḥ | dṛṣṭvā kuntīm upātiṣṭhad abhivādya kṛtāñjaliḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Khi đã tụng japa cho đến lúc sức nóng của Mặt Trời không còn rọi vào lưng chàng (tức khi Mặt Trời đã chuyển theo hành trình của mình), Karṇa—người giữ vững giới nguyện—mới quay lại. Thấy Kuntī trước mặt, chàng chắp tay cúi chào và đứng gần nàng với lòng kính trọng. Cảnh ấy cho thấy Karṇa nghiêm cẩn giữ đạo lễ, dù quanh chàng là những căng thẳng đạo lý về thân phận và chiến tranh sắp đến.
