प्रवर्तनाद् द्वापरस्य यथाभागमुपाश्षुते । कले: प्रवर्तनादू राजा पापमत्यन्तमश्लुते
pravartanād dvāparasya yathābhāgam upāśnute | kaleḥ pravartanād rājā pāpam atyantam aśnute ||
Khi làm cho thời Dvāpara vận hành, bậc cầm quyền hưởng quả báo công và tội theo phần cân xứng. Nhưng nếu khởi phát dòng chảy của thời Kali, nhà vua chuốc lấy tội lỗi cực lớn và phải chịu những hậu quả khắc nghiệt. Lời dạy nhấn mạnh sức nặng đạo đức của việc trị quốc: hành vi của người đứng đầu có thể giữ gìn trật tự quân bình, hoặc phóng thích một thời suy đồi mà khổ đau sẽ dội ngược về chính kẻ gây ra.
