Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)

ऐश्व॒र्ये वर्तता चैव सांख्ययोगवता तथा । नैकतन्त्रविबुद्धेन दृष्टवा दिव्येन चक्षुषा

aiśvarye vartatā caiva sāṅkhyayogavatā tathā | naikatantravibuddhena dṛṣṭvā divyena cakṣuṣā ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Được ban uy lực linh thiêng, an trụ trong Sāṅkhya và Yoga, và tỉnh thức trong nhiều ngành học thánh điển, hiền triết Vyāsa—nhờ thiên nhãn—đã soạn nên Itihāsa này để danh tiếng của các Pāṇḍava đại hồn và của những vị vua rực rỡ khác, giàu có và quyền thế, được lan truyền khắp thế gian.”
