Yuddha-yajña-vyākhyāna (The Battle as Sacrifice): Ambarīṣa–Indra Saṃvāda
अशोच्यो हि हतः शूर: स्वर्गलोके महीयते । युद्धस्थलमें मारे गये शूरवीरके लिये किसी प्रकार भी शोक नहीं करना चाहिये। वह मारा गया शूरवीर स्वर्गलोकमें प्रतिष्ठित होता है, अतः कदापि शोचनीय नहीं है
aśocyo hi hataḥ śūraḥ svargaloke mahīyate |
Ambarīṣa tuyên bố rằng một dũng sĩ ngã xuống nơi chiến địa thì không đáng để than khóc. Kẻ ngã khi đang đứng vững trong bổn phận chiến trận sẽ được tôn vinh ở cõi trời; vì thế, cái chết ấy không phải là cớ cho sầu bi, mà là sự viên mãn của kṣatriya-dharma.
