विधानाक्रम्य मित्राणि विधानमुपकल्पयेत्‌ । सामभेदान्‌ विरोधार्थ विधानमुपकल्पयेत्‌

Transliteration

vidhānākramya mitrāṇi vidhānam upakalpayet | sāmabhedān virodhārtha vidhānam upakalpayet |

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “Trước hết, nhờ sự nâng đỡ và lời khuyên của những bằng hữu đáng tin, hãy sắp đặt chu toàn việc tự vệ. Rồi hãy suy xét điều mà thời thế đòi hỏi và chọn lấy đường lối thích hợp—hòa giải, chia rẽ, hoặc nếu cần, giao chiến công khai—để đạt được mục tiêu đã định.”
