प्रत्यक्षा च परोक्षा च वृत्तिश्चास्य भवेत् समा | एवं कुर्वन् नरेन्द्रोडपि न खेदमिह विन्दति
pratyakṣā ca parokṣā ca vṛttiś cāsya bhavet samā | evaṁ kurvan narendro ’pi na khedam iha vindati ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Dù xử lý việc thấy rõ trước mắt hay việc chỉ biết gián tiếp, nhà vua cũng phải giữ một lối ứng xử công bằng như nhau đối với họ. Bậc quân vương hành xử cân bằng như thế sẽ không gặp tai ương hay khổ não ở đời này.”
