सर्वभूतपरित्राणं क्षत्रधर्म इहोच्यते । वैश्यानां यज्ञसंवृत्तिरातिथेियसमन्विता

Transliteration

sarvabhūta-paritrāṇaṁ kṣatra-dharma iha ucyate | vaiśyānāṁ yajña-saṁvṛttir ātithya-samanvitā ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “Trong đời này, bổn phận của kṣatriya được tuyên xưng là che chở và bảo vệ mọi loài hữu tình. Còn với vaiśya, bổn phận được quy định là cử hành và duy trì các lễ tế (yajña) đúng phép, đồng thời kính đãi khách khứa.”
