Adhyāya 353 — Kathā-prāmāṇya (Authority of Transmission) and the Brāhmaṇa’s Ascetic Resolve
tasyāikatvaṃ mahattvaṃ ca sa caikaḥ puruṣaḥ smṛtaḥ | mahāpuruṣaśabdaṃ sa bibharty ekaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
Ngài có cả tính nhất thể lẫn uy đức tối thượng; vì thế chỉ riêng Ngài được ghi nhớ là “Con Người” chân thật. Đấng Duy Nhất, vĩnh cửu ấy mang danh xưng “Mahāpuruṣa” — Bậc Đại Nhân, Đấng Tối Thượng.
पितामह उवाच
The verse teaches that the Supreme Being is uniquely one (aikatva) and supremely great (mahattva); hence tradition recognizes only that single eternal Reality as the true Puruṣa, rightly called “Mahāpuruṣa.”
Bhīṣma (Pitamaha), instructing on dharma and higher truth in the Śānti Parva, identifies the ultimate divine principle as the one eternal Supreme Person and explains why the epithet “Mahāpuruṣa” properly belongs to him alone.
