जनमेजय उवाच एवं बहुविध॑ धर्म प्रतिबुद्धैर्निषिवितम् । न कुर्वन्ति कथं विप्रा अन्ये नानाव्रते स्थिता:
Janamejaya uvāca: evaṁ bahuvidhaṁ dharmaṁ pratibuddhair niṣevitam | na kurvanti kathaṁ viprā anye nānāvrate sthitāḥ ||
Janamejaya thưa: “Bạch hiền giả! Dharma này phong phú nhiều phương diện và đầy đủ nhiều đức hạnh, được những bậc tỉnh thức và minh triết thực hành. Vậy vì sao các brāhmaṇa khác—dẫu đang giữ nhiều loại giới nguyện và nghi lễ—lại không sống theo dharma ấy?”
