अध्याय २९७ — श्रेयः, धृति, दान-नियमाः
Welfare, Steadfastness, and Norms of Giving
गृहेषु येषामसव: पतन्ति तेषामथो निर्हरणं प्रशस्तम् । यानेन वै प्रापणं च श्मशाने शौचेन नूनं विधिना चैव दाह:
gṛheṣu yeṣām asavaḥ patanti teṣām atho nirharaṇaṁ praśastam | yānena vai prāpaṇaṁ ca śmaśāne śaucena nūnaṁ vidhinā caiva dāhaḥ ||
Parāśara dạy rằng: “Khi sinh khí của một người đang rời khỏi thân trong nhà, thì được xem là hợp lẽ phải đưa người ấy ra khỏi nơi ở ngay, không chậm trễ. Sau khi chết, thi thể phải được đặt trên cáng đưa đến bãi hỏa táng, và—giữ sự thanh tịnh nghi lễ—được hỏa táng theo đúng nghi thức kinh điển.”
