इमा हि देवता: सर्वा ऋषयश्न परंतप । तव क्रोधान्महादेव न शान्तिमुपलेभिरे,शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाले महादेव! ये सब देवता और ऋषि आपके क्रोधसे संतप्त होकर कहीं शान्ति नहीं पा रहे हैं
imā hi devatāḥ sarvā ṛṣayaś ca parantapa | tava krodhān mahādeva na śāntim upalebhire ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bậc khuất phục kẻ thù—hỡi Mahādeva—tất cả chư thiên và các bậc hiền triết này, bị thiêu đốt bởi cơn thịnh nộ của Ngài, đều chẳng tìm được an tịnh. Cơn giận của Ngài đã hóa thành sức nóng nuốt chửng thế gian, khiến ngay cả những đấng tối thượng cũng bồn chồn cho đến khi được xoa dịu.”
