Inquiry into Śreyas, Dharma, and Karma
हारिद्रवर्णे रक्ते वा वर्तमानस्तु पार्थिव । तिर्यगेवानुपश्येत कर्मभिस्तामसैर्वृत:
hāridra-varṇe rakte vā vartamānas tu pārthiva | tiryag evānupaśyet karmabhis tāmasair vṛtaḥ ||
Yudhiṣṭhira nói: “Ôi Đại vương, một hữu tình đang ở trong cõi tạo hóa sắc vàng (cõi thần) hay thậm chí trong cõi sắc đỏ (cõi được ân sủng) vẫn có thể—khi bị bao phủ bởi các hành vi thuộc tính tamas—phải thấy, thậm chí rơi vào, cảnh giới sinh làm loài vật. Vì thế, ngay cả những địa vị cao cũng không vững bền khi hạnh kiểm sa vào bóng tối.”
