इन्द्रेण वृत्रवधः, ब्रह्महत्याया अनुगमनम्, तथा च विभाजन-निवासविधानम्
Indra’s defeat of Vṛtra; pursuit by Brahmahatyā; allocation of her abodes
उत्थानेन जयेत् तन्द्रीं वितर्क निश्चयाज्जयेत् । मौनेन बहुभाष्यं च शौर्येण च भयं त्यजेत्
utthānena jayettandrīṁ vitarka-niścayāj jayeta | maunena bahubhāṣyaṁ ca śauryeṇa ca bhayaṁ tyajet ||
Bhīṣma nói: Bằng cách đứng dậy và tinh tấn, hãy thắng sự uể oải; bằng sự phân định vững chắc và niềm xác tín đã an định, hãy vượt qua lối lập luận trái chiều và nghi hoặc. Bằng việc giữ im lặng, hãy tiết chế thói quen nói nhiều; và bằng dũng khí, hãy gạt bỏ sợ hãi.
