कामद्रुम-रूपकः तथा शरीर-पुर-रूपकः

तत् तेरहं सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि यन्मां त्वं परिपृच्छसि
tad etad ahaṃ sampravakṣyāmi yan māṃ tvaṃ paripṛcchasi | yat tu sammohasaṃyuktam avyaktaviṣayaṃ bhavet | apratarkyam avijñeyaṃ tamas tad upadhāryatām ||
Vyāsa nói: “Nay ta sẽ giảng cho con điều con hỏi. Khi một trạng thái gắn liền với mê vọng khởi lên—khi đối tượng trở nên mờ nhạt, lý luận không thể vươn tới, và không thể biết cho rõ ràng—thì phải hiểu rằng đó là tamas (tính chất của bóng tối và trì trệ) đang vận hành.”
