Educational Q&A

Vyāsa frames yogic attainments as outcomes of disciplined yoga: some appear as extraordinary powers (like worldly sovereignty), while the higher accomplishment is inner realization—directly perceiving fulfillment in the Self through concentrated meditation.

In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on peace and spiritual discipline, Vyāsa announces that he will explain how specific yogic powers arise for practitioners and will also describe the deeper siddhi experienced by a meditator who perceives realization within the Self.
