कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve

अनव्यवदहितं यो वा नेदं वाक्यमुपाश्रुते । उग्रायैव हि सृष्टोडसि कर्मणे न त्वमीक्षसे

Transliteration

anavyavadahitaṃ yo vā nedaṃ vākyam upāśṛṇute | ugrāyaiva hi sṛṣṭo ’si karmaṇe na tvam īkṣase ||

Translation

Bhishma nói: “Nếu con không chấp nhận—thật vậy, nếu con không lắng nghe cho đúng—lời khuyên răn này của ta, thì cách hành xử ấy không xứng hợp. Bởi con được Đấng Tạo Hóa nắn nên để gánh vác những hành động nghiêm khắc, mạnh mẽ; vậy mà con lại không giữ điều ấy trong tầm mắt.”
