कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve

न धर्मवचन वाचा नैव बुद्धयेति नः श्रुतम्‌ । इति बार्हस्पतं ज्ञानं प्रोवाच मघवा स्वयम्‌

Transliteration

na dharmavacana-vācā naiva buddhayeti naḥ śrutam | iti bārhaspataṃ jñānaṃ provāca maghavā svayam ||

Translation

Bhishma nói: “Chúng ta từng nghe rằng dharma không thể được xác quyết chỉ bằng lời lẽ, cũng không chỉ bằng trí tuệ (lý luận) đơn thuần. Đây là giáo huấn của Bṛhaspati: dharma được quyết định nhờ sức mạnh hợp nhất của chứng ngôn kinh điển và sự khảo sát bằng lý trí—chính Maghavā (Indra) đã tuyên bố như vậy.”
