नासम्यक्‌ कृतकारी स्यादप्रमत्त: सदा भवेत्‌ | कण्टको<पि हि दुश्छिन्नो विकारं कुरुते चिरम्‌

Transliteration

nāsamyak kṛtakārī syād apramattaḥ sadā bhavet | kaṇṭako 'pi hi duśchinnaḥ vikāraṃ kurute ciram ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: Chớ bỏ dở một việc khi chưa hoàn thành cho đúng đắn, và hãy luôn tỉnh thức, cẩn trọng. Vì ngay cả một cái gai, nếu nhổ không khéo mà còn sót mảnh trong thân, cũng gây rối loạn và đau đớn lâu dài. Lời dạy khuyên sự chu toàn và sự cảnh giác bền bỉ: những phần sót nhỏ của sự lơ là có thể lớn thành tai hại dai dẳng.
