Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)
नविश्वसेदविश्वस्ते विश्वस्ते नातिविश्वसेत् विश्वासाद् भयमुत्पन्नमपि मूलं निकृन्तति । काम॑ विश्वासयेदन्यान् परेषां च न विश्वसेत्
na viśvased aviśvaste viśvaste nātiviśvaset | viśvāsād bhayam utpannam api mūlaṃ nikṛntati || kāmaṃ viśvāsayed anyān pareṣāṃ ca na viśvaset |
Brahmadatta nói: “Đừng tin kẻ không đáng tin; và ngay cả người đáng tin cũng chớ tin quá mức. Vì nỗi sợ sinh ra từ niềm tin đặt sai chỗ có thể chặt đứt một người tận gốc rễ. Nếu muốn, ta có thể khiến người khác tin mình; nhưng bản thân đừng buông bỏ sự phán đoán mà tin người một cách mù quáng.”
