तम्मित्र कारणं सर्व विस्तरेणापि मे शूणु । कारणात्‌ प्रियतामेति द्वेष्यो भवति कारणात्‌

Transliteration

tan mitra kāraṇaṁ sarvaṁ vistareṇāpi me śṛṇu | kāraṇāt priyatām eti dveṣyo bhavati kāraṇāt ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi bạn, hãy nghe ta trình bày tường tận toàn bộ nguyên do. Ngay cả những lời ngọt ngào ngươi nói—‘Hôm nay ngươi thật đáng mến đối với ta’—cũng có nguyên nhân. Con người được yêu mến vì có nguyên do, và cũng bị thù ghét vì có nguyên do.”
